Começou nesta terça-feira (8) a Cúpula da Amazônia, evento que reuni chefes de Estado de países amazônicos para discutir iniciativas para o desenvolvimento sustentável na região. Além do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a cidade de Belém receberá os presidentes da Bolívia, Colômbia, Guiana, e do Peru. Equador e Suriname, por questões internas dos dois países, enviarão representantes.
Um dos objetivos da Cúpula da Amazônia, que terminará na quarta-feira (9), é fortalecer a Organização do Tratado de Cooperação Amazônica (OTCA), organização internacional sediada em Brasília.
A cúpula que reuniu representantes de entidades, movimentos sociais, academia, centros de pesquisa e agências governamentais do Brasil e demais países amazônicos com o objetivo de formular sugestões para a reconstrução de políticas públicas sustentáveis para a região. O resultado desses debates será apresentado na forma de propostas aos chefes de Estado durante a cúpula.
A ideia é que os países acolham algumas das propostas recebidas no encontro. Mas cada país tem autonomia para acolher as sugestões que entender melhor para si. No caso do Brasil, o governo já anunciou que acompanhará as propostas apresentadas.
“O acompanhamento do conjunto de propostas do Diálogos Amazônicos, no âmbito do Brasil, será feito pela Secretaria-Geral da Presidência da República, mas tem também vários instrumentos. Por exemplo, o PPA [Plano Plurianual] que está sendo construído. Tem propostas daqui que podem ser incorporadas ao PPA”, afirmou o ministro das Relações Institucionais, Alexandre Padilha, durante os eventos dos Diálogos Amazônicos.
