A britânica, de 33 anos, foi diagnosticada com síndrome do intestino irritável e, mais tarde, com doença de Crohn, desenvolvendo um abscesso no abdômen que resultou em uma sepse mortal.
nVictoria Danson achava que estava sob muita pressão e estresse quando começou a se sentir extremamente cansada e a sofrer de fortes dores abdominais. Os médicos deram a ela 24 horas de vida caso nada fosse feito.nnA infecção se espalhou pelo corpo e ela foi submetida a uma cirurgia de emergência para remover o abscesso, que estava localizado nos ovários, relata ela mesma.nnOs médicos removeram 18 centímetros do seu intestino, o que a levou a ter que usar uma bolsa de colostomia. “Eu disse a eles que não queria a bolsa, mas essa era a única opção se eu quisesse sobreviver”, lembra.nnVictoria, que levava uma vida ativa, teve que mudar seus hábitos, algo que inicialmente duvidava ser capaz.nnMãe de uma criança de sete anos, ela admite que teve que fazer um grande esforço para “aceitar minha condição”.
