Neste estudo, os pesquisadores analisaram dados de adultos mais velhos, com 65 anos ou mais, que não apresentavam sinais de demência. Eles dividiram os participantes em grupos de vacinados e não vacinados ao longo de oito anos, focando em três vacinas: Tdap/Td (para tétano, difteria e coqueluche), HZ (para herpes zoster) e pneumocócica (para pneumonia e outras infecções relacionadas).
Os resultados revelaram que os indivíduos que receberam a vacina Tdap/Td tiveram um risco 30% menor de desenvolver a doença de Alzheimer.
