Neste estudo, os pesquisadores analisaram dados de adultos mais velhos, com 65 anos ou mais, que não apresentavam sinais de demência. Para explicar essas descobertas, a equipe sugere que as vacinas podem melhorar a capacidade do sistema imunológico de combater proteínas tóxicas associadas à doença de Alzheimer ou reduzir os danos às células cerebrais saudáveis.
