O WhatsApp anunciou que deixará de funcionar em celulares com Android 4.4 ou anterior a partir de 24 de outubro. A empresa afirma que a decisão foi tomada para garantir a segurança e a estabilidade do aplicativo.
De acordo com o WhatsApp, os celulares com Android 4.4 ou anterior não receberão mais atualizações de segurança, o que os tornará mais vulneráveis a ataques cibernéticos. Além disso, esses celulares não serão capazes de executar as novas funcionalidades do WhatsApp, que são constantemente atualizadas.
