SÃO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) – O Google começa a deletar nesta sexta-feira (1º) contas inativas há pelo menos dois anos, segundo informe publicado pela empresa em maio.
Quando o gigante da tecnologia apaga uma conta, também exclui todos os dados vinculados ao usuário. Isso inclui todo o conteúdo de Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet e Calendar, YouTube e Google Fotos.
A nova regra se aplica apenas a contas pessoais e não a usuários vinculados a organizações como escolas ou empresas.
As contas inativas são mais vulneráveis a violações de segurança e esse seria o motivo para deletá-las, segundo o comunicado do Google. Registros antigos têm maior risco de exposição de senha e outros dados cadastrais em vazamentos e, em geral, não contam com a proteção da autenticação de dois fatores.
“Nossa análise interna mostra que as contas abandonadas têm pelo menos 10 vezes menos probabilidade do que as contas ativas de configurar a verificação em duas etapas”, diz a empresa.
Para evitar a exclusão, o usuário pode manter a atividade das seguintes formas:
Lendo ou enviando um email
Usando o Google Drive
Assistindo vídeo no Youtube
Compartilhando foto
Baixando app
Usando a busca do Google
Usando o Google para se logar em outros sites, plataformas e serviços
O usuário pode checar status de atividade da conta neste link: https://myaccount.google.com/?utm_source=sign_in_no_continue&pli=1 .
Antes de deletar a conta depois de dois anos de inatividade, o Google vai enviar notificações para o Gmail e para o email de recuperação informado durante o registro.
A política não se aplica a contas inativas há dois anos nestes casos:
Usuários que compram produtos do Google, aplicativos, serviços ou têm assinaturas ativas não têm conta deletada
Conta contiver cartão de presente com saldo ativo
Conta tem um aplicativo ou jogo publicado na Play Store
Conta é indicada como responsável
