A construção de uma estação espacial na Lua exige soluções logísticas inovadoras. Para superar os desafios de transporte de cargas no nosso satélite natural, a NASA está avaliando o sistema Flexible Levitation on a Track (FLOAT).

O projeto, em fase de avaliação pela agência espacial americana, propõe a construção de uma linha férrea flutuante na superfície lunar. Essa infraestrutura inédita permitiria o “transporte confiável, autônomo e eficiente de mercadorias” para a futura estação espacial.

Utilizando “robôs magnéticos” como propulsores, o sistema FLOAT seria capaz de transportar mais de 100 toneladas de cargas por dia, percorrendo “múltiplos quilômetros” na superfície lunar. Essa capacidade logística seria crucial para as operações diárias dos astronautas que habitarão a estação espacial.

Embora ainda em fase de avaliação, o projeto FLOAT se mostra promissor para o futuro da exploração espacial. Com a NASA planejando levar astronautas à Lua em 2026, a busca por soluções inovadoras de transporte lunar se torna cada vez mais urgente.
