Durante uma viagem noturna que ligava a Alemanha à Itália, através do território austríaco, um ônibus de longa distância sofreu um acidente na região de Caríntia, no centro da Áustria, na madrugada desta terça-feira.
O veículo saiu da estrada e tombou, resultando em 20 feridos e uma vítima fatal, segundo informações da agência APA. A vítima fatal é uma jovem de 19 anos, cuja nacionalidade ainda não foi divulgada.
Um órgão local confirmou que havia 44 pessoas a bordo, incluindo dois motoristas. O acidente ocorreu na aldeia de Micheldorf, e a Cruz Vermelha austríaca relatou que o ônibus colidiu com uma barreira de cimento antes de tombar.
O ônibus fazia parte de uma viagem regular oferecida pela empresa Flixbus, e tinha como destino Trieste, na Itália, com paradas em Linz, na Áustria, ao norte do local do acidente.
As operações de resgate envolveram dezenas de socorristas, que utilizaram escadas, sistemas hidráulicos avançados e outras ferramentas para resgatar as pessoas a bordo.
