O presidente nacional do Partido Liberal (PL), Valdemar Costa Neto, afirmou à CNN Brasil, neste sábado, 11, que acredita na confirmação da candidatura da ex-primeira-dama Michelle Bolsonaro ao Senado pelo Distrito Federal. A declaração ocorre após os desdobramentos dos conflitos com o senador Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pré-candidato à Presidência da República.
Segundo o dirigente partidário, Michelle disse a ele que não queria mais ser candidata. “Eu falei: ‘Isso é um prejuízo muito grande para o partido’”, declarou Valdemar.
“A senhora se elege senadora, fica oito anos, vai aprender e terá uma boa base para seguir em frente na política, porque é nova”, disse. Valdemar acrescentou: “Então, acho que ela será candidata e chegará em primeiro lugar em Brasília. Não tenho dúvida”.
O presidente do PL também afirmou acreditar que Michelle subirá no palanque ao lado de Flávio. “Eu acredito. Sempre digo o seguinte: não podemos brigar entre nós porque, se perdermos a eleição, o Bolsonaro fica mais dez anos preso. Não podemos perder isso, não podemos perder o trabalho dela nem o de ninguém”, declarou.
Valdemar relembrou ainda a discussão entre Michelle e Flávio sobre o apoio do PL à candidatura de Ciro Gomes (PSDB) ao governo do Ceará. “O Ciro briga até com o irmão. Ele é desse jeito. Mas acontece que é o único cidadão que pode vencer o PT no estado do Ceará. E o nosso presidente lá, André Fernandes, perdeu a eleição em Fortaleza por 10 mil votos”, relatou. “Eles têm muita força lá.”
