SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) – O Irã atacou nesta quinta-feira (30) duas bases militares dos Estados Unidos no Oriente Médio, destruiu jatos norte-americanos e deixou mortos.
Guarda Revolucionária do Irã disse ter atacado bases dos EUA na Jordânia e no Kuwait. Em nota, o grupo afirmou ter destruído completamente três jatos F-35, além de danificar outras três aeronaves, que estavam estacionados na base aérea de Azraq, na Jordânia.
Sem citar números, Guarda Revolucionária falou em “vários mortos”. “Os ataques com vários mísseis balísticos causaram danos severos a aeronaves e deixaram vários oficiais, além de pessoal técnico e de manutenção do inimigo, mortos”, diz o comunicado.
O ataque foi em resposta aos bombardeios feitos pelos EUA, disse o grupo islâmico. Ontem, Washington retomou os ataques em território iraniano e matou pelo menos três membros da Guarda Revolucionária iraniana.
Jatos destruídos são aeronaves militares ultramodernas. Essas aeronaves têm preço elevado e custam cerca de R$ 511 milhões cada unidade. Até o momento, os EUA não se manifestaram sobre esse ataque.
Em meio ao aumento das hostilidades no Oriente Médio, o Irã também deve reforçar seu sistema de defesa aérea. Teerã deverá receber nas próximas semanas sistemas portáteis de defesa antiaérea (MANPADS) fornecidos pela China, segundo a agência de notícias Reuters.
Os equipamentos são capazes de derrubar aeronaves que voam em baixa altitude, como helicópteros, drones e alguns aviões durante decolagens e pousos. Conforme a Reuters, as entregas começaram a ser negociadas após o cessar-fogo com Israel e parte do pagamento deverá ser feita com remessas de petróleo iraniano para Pequim.
A chegada dos sistemas pode fortalecer a proteção de instalações militares e nucleares iranianas, que foram alvo de ataques israelenses e americanos nos últimos meses. Analistas avaliam que o reforço também aumenta o custo de eventuais novas operações aéreas contra o país.
