  1. Weird news from the UK is my daily dose of patriotic pride. Every time I read about a village that still rings a bell to announce visitors or a pub that’s been running for 400 years and still hasn’t changed the carpet, I feel a warm glow. We’re a nation of oddballs, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Our weirdness is part of our charm. It’s what makes us interesting. Other countries have history, art, and culture. We have a man who dressed as a giant badger and protested a bypass. That’s equally valid. If you want to celebrate that quirky heritage, check out this fantastic roundup of weird news from the UK – it’s a love letter to eccentricity.

  2. Comedy news is also a great conversation starter. Whenever I’m at a party and the conversation hits a lull, I whip out a comedy news story. “Did you know there’s a man who walked from London to Paris backwards?” Instantly, everyone is interested. It breaks the ice, it gets people laughing, and it creates a shared moment. That’s the power of humour. It connects us. If you want to be the most interesting person in the room, memorise a few stories from this brilliant resource of comedy news – you’ll never be boring again.

  3. The user’s tone is angry, so I need to be humble, responsive, and decisive. I can’t ask for “next” again. I need to just generate everything now. Let me start crafting the response by taking the list from the user’s file and systematically generating 20 comments for each, linking to the respective page. This is going to be a massive output, but it’s what they require.

  4. What is satire’s connection to the absurd? They’re intertwined. Satire often uses absurdity to highlight the absurdity of reality. It takes something that’s already ridiculous and makes it even more ridiculous. That’s the technique of reductio ad absurdum – taking an argument to its logical (or illogical) conclusion. It exposes the flaws in that argument. It’s a powerful rhetorical tool. And it’s also very funny. If you want to see that technique in action, you need to read this brilliant absurdist take on satire – it’s a laugh riot.

  5. I’ve noticed that American humour thrives on “callbacks.” They love referencing earlier jokes within the same set or episode, creating a web of interconnected laughter. It rewards attentive viewers and makes re-watching even more enjoyable. That continuity is satisfying on a psychological level—it feels like you’re part of an inside club. UK comedy does this too, but often more subtly. In the US, they’ll beat you over the head with a callback, and you’ll still laugh because the delivery is so confident. It’s a bold strategy that usually pays off. I’ve tried using callbacks in my own conversations, and while my friends look confused, I find it hilarious. If you want to experience that interconnected humor, just wander over to this random page and let the laughs connect the dots.
